Albuquerque, NM – Pima Medical Institute Hires Michelle McLurkin As New Faculty Coordinator

Pima Medical Institute, 2201 San Pedro NE, Suite 100 recently hired Michelle McLurkin, MA as the Faculty Coordinator for the Albuquerque campus. McLurkin will be working with PMI’s faculty and instructors and assisting them with teaching techniques, classroom management and lesson plans.
McLurkin earned her Masters degree in the Art of Teaching and has more than 10 years of teaching, lesson plan development and faculty team coordination experience. She recently moved to New Mexico from Illinois.

“Michelle is enthusiastic and a great motivator,” said Popie White, campus director for the Albuquerque vocational school. “We are expecting a lot of exciting changes in the next few months at PMI, and we look forward to Michelle’s expertise to guide us along as we expand our curriculum.”
Programs at PMI include: Dental Assistant; Medical Assistant; Medical Secretary; Ophthalmic Medical Assistant; Pharmacy Technician; Physical Therapy Technician; Radiography and Veterinary Assistant.

A new program in Respiratory Therapy is scheduled to begin before the end of 2004. Graduates of the 88 credit-hour Respiratory Therapy program receive an Associate of Occupational Science degree. The program will consist of classes in medical ethics, mathematics, chemistry, physics, human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, advanced respiratory care techniques (including neonatal and adult special care procedures), general and advanced pharmacology, cardiopulmonary disease, patient assessment and the therapeutics that are required to function at the patient’s bedside in the hospital setting.
