| PENNY PINCHING PAYS OFF
Colorado Springs, CO – Pima Medical Institute Wins Fundraiser To Help Local Rescue Mission
Penny pinching paid off in a major way for the Pennies from Heaven fundraiser sponsored by news radio KVOR740. The students and staff at Pima Medical Institute, 370 Printers Parkway in Colorado Springs, pinched pennies and prodded others to join the radio station’s philanthropic effort and won the award for the most funds collected.
The career college displayed a big penny jar on campus and the radio station collected the hefty jar and later called to inform PMI that they had been the top fundraisers. All the proceeds were donated to the local rescue mission. The reward for PMI’s fundraising efforts was dinner for 30 at the Outback.
“A little pocket change can go a long way to help feed the hungry, especially if you contribute on a regular basis,” said Karen McGrath, campus director for the medical career college. “At PMI, we not only focus on training professionals for a rewarding career in healthcare, we also encourage community service. I’m very proud of everyone’s efforts and I’m pleased we were able to be the top fundraisers for this worthy cause.”
