Las Vegas – New Campus Offers Outreach For Children’s Dental Health Month

The Dental Assistant students at Pima Medical Institute, 3333 E. Flamingo Road in Las Vegas are looking for a few good (and bad) mouths to teach proper brushing and flossing techniques during February, National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Teachers, or others who work with children, are encouraged to call PMI at 702-458-9650 to set up an appointment to have the dental assistant students interact with the children while providing useful information on proper oral hygiene.

The training period for dental assistants is 30 weeks for day classes for morning, as well as afternoon classes, or 33 weeks for the evening program. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for Dental Assistants is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through 2012.

The Las Vegas campus offers programs for Dental Assistant; Medical Assistant; Medical Administrative Assistant; Phlebotomy Technician, Veterinary Assistant and Radiography.
