GYNGER STEELE SPICES THINGS UP IN SEATTLE
Seattle, WA – Admissions Rep at Pima Medical Institute Is Peak Performer at Work, School and Play
By day, she is an admission representative listening to student’s concerns and guiding them through the educational process at Pima Medical Institute, 9709 3rd Ave. NE in Seattle. By night, she studies forensic psychology to delve into the minds and motives of serial killers, sex offenders and rapists. It is all in a day’s and night’s work for Gynger Steele, an admissions representative for Pima Medical Institute’s 2005 staff person of the year.
Steele said a key factor in her accepting her current position was school’s humanistic culture and the staff’s personal commitment to help each student succeed. PMI is one of only a handful of privately-owned career colleges in the southwest that is not part of a major educational corporation.
The result has been a perfect fit. As a full time student holding down a full time position, Steele understands the challenges students face. But she is careful to not allow PMI students and potential students to get in the habit of making excuses and settling for suboptimal results.
“I have been working full time and attending college since I was 17 years old and I know it’s hard,” said Steele. “But it is possible to accomplish your goals and dreams if you are determined to make it work. If you get in the habit of relying on excuses you will spend the rest of your life justifying your failures instead of living the life and working in the career you want”.
In addition to work and school, Steele runs 40 miles a week and works out at the gym almost every day. When the weather permits, she enjoys riding her pearl white Harley 2000 Deuce motorcycle on the open road. It doesn’t matter if she is studying deviant behavior, running through the rain, or advising students at PMI, if variety is the spice of life, Gynger Steele lives up to her name.
PMI is one of the premier medical career colleges in the western United States. PMI has been serving students since 1972, with campuses in: Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mesa and Tucson, AZ; Denver and Colorado Springs, CO; Seattle and Renton, WA; Las Vegas, NV and Chula Vista, CA.
