FORMER INSTRUCTOR BREATHES IN AND UP AT PIMA MEDICAL INSTITUTE
Chula Vista, CA – Heather Verdon Named Director of Clinical Education for Respiratory Therapy Program

Heather Verdon has been named the Director of Clinical Education of Respiratory Therapy at Pima Medical Institute, 780 Bay Blvd, Suite 101 in Chula Vista. Verdon joined PMI in January of 2005 as a part-time Clinical Instructor and was promoted to her new position a little more than a year later.

Verdon has more than 15 years of experience as a respiratory therapist or instructor. Prior to joining PMI, she worked at Palomar Medical Center, Children's Hospital and California College. She received her Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy in 1990 and her Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy in 2002.

"With Heather's knowledge, experience and positive attitude, we knew we had a winning combination," said Sue Kirtland, campus director for the Chula Vista career college. "She is perfect in her new role and we fully expect she will help make our great Respiratory Therapy program even better".

Graduates of the 88 credit-hour Respiratory Therapy program receive an Associate of Occupational Science degree. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Respiratory Therapy is one of the fastest growing occupations in the U.S. PMI's Chula Vista campus also has programs for Medical Assistants, Medical Administrative Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, Radiographers, Respiratory Therapists and Veterinary Assistants.
