Treat Your Heart to a Complementary Blood Pressure Check from Pima Medical Institute at Northgate Mall

Community is invited to be tested to determine the health of their hearts

WHAT:

If you gave away your heart to your sweetie for Valentine's Day, now is the perfect time to make sure it's a healthy one.

Students and faculty from Pima Medical Institute's Seattle campus are ready to help Seattle residents determine if their blood pressure is within the healthy range. The students will be at the Northgate Mall on Friday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 3 p.m. to offer complementary blood pressure checks.

According to the American Heart Association, high blood pressure forces your heart to work harder than normal, making both the heart and arteries more prone to injuries. High blood pressure increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, eye damage, congestive heart failure and fatty buildups in arteries called atherosclerotic plaques.

The blood pressure check stations will be located near the food court and can be reached directly through the west entrance of the mall.

Pima Medical Institute is one of the leading medical career training schools in the western United States and helps prepare students for positions in a variety of disciplines within the health care field. Pima Medical Institute has 11 campuses in seven states, including two campus locations in Washington.
