Pima Medical Institute’s Denver and Tucson Campuses Receive Maximum 10-Year Physical Therapist Assistant Program Accreditation

The campuses earned the maximum length for programmatic accreditation available

MESA, AZ (Dec 06, 2011) - Pima Medical Institute, a private allied health care career college, announced the reaffirmation for accreditation of its Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at both its Denver and Tucson campuses. The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) honored the schools and programs with a 10-year accreditation, the maximum length of time for which a program can be accredited.

“It is an extraordinary accomplishment to receive the maximum allowable accreditation and congratulations are in order for the PTA team for their dedication and exceptional hard work in completing this monumental task,” said Dale Berg, campus director for Pima Medical’s Tucson campus.

Tim Rees, campus director for Pima Medical Institute’s Denver campus, agreed. “This is a major accomplishment and came after considerable time and effort on the part of our PTA team and faculty coordinator.”

Upon graduation, students who attended accredited institutions have more employment options as they can sit for licensure or certification tests. Students who graduate from Pima Medical’s PTA program are eligible to sit for the PTA licensing examination.

Both campuses received programmatic accreditation following the submission of a self-evaluation document, a subsequent on-site visit from a CAPTE team and a review by the CAPTE commission.
