What does a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer do?
- Operates and prepares equipment to obtain diagnostic images or to conduct tests
- Reviews images or test results and analyzes diagnostic information to provide a summary of findings for physicians
- Prepares patients for procedures by taking their medical histories and answering any questions about the process

Some of the courses during your education include Abdominal and Small Parts Ultrasound Imaging and Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound Imaging. The classes will prepare you to work as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, also known as an Ultrasound Technician or Technologist, in physicians’ offices, outpatient imaging departments, medical and diagnostic labs and more.
