New North City Signs Long-Term Lease With Pima Medical Institute

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (March 21, 2016) – San Diego real estate development and investment firm Urban Villages San Marcos has signed a long-term, 40,000-square-feet lease agreement with Pima Medical Institute. The new campus will open in September 2017.

The agreement marks a significant step in the ongoing evolution of the new NORTH CITY, a 204-acre hub of mixed-use residential, retail and commercial space adjacent to the campus of California State University, San Marcos, at the center of San Diego’s North County.

Urban Villages principals Gary Levitt and Michael McDonald, who worked on the specifics of the lease, are delighted to add Pima Medical’s newest campus to NORTH CITY’s master plan.

“Pima Medical Institute is one of the premier healthcare training providers in the country,” said McDonald. “With the growing need for healthcare professionals in North San Diego County, and the live, learn, work, play concept of NORTH CITY, Pima is a perfect fit.”

Pima Medical Institute is a private, accredited healthcare career school providing students classroom studies paired with real-world training at medical facilities. The campus is expected to create upward of 90 new jobs and maintain an active population of 600 students.

Pima Medical Institute's associate degree programs will include Respiratory Therapy, Veterinary Technology, Occupational and Physical Therapy assistant, as well a menu of certificate programs in Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Pharmacy Technology, Veterinary Assisting and other short-term, career-oriented programs.

Colliers International San Diego, represented by Senior Vice Presidents Gary Williams and Tucker Hohenstien, along with Associate Vice President Chris Williams, is the exclusive listing agent for NORTH CITY’s 500,000-square-feet of future office space.
