Meet Las Vegas PMI Vet Tech Alumna Tiffany Werner

This week is National Veterinary Technician Week. To celebrate, we are featuring the stories of Pima Medical Institute vet tech and vet assistant students and grads.

Las Vegas Pima Medical Institute alumna Tiffany Werner enrolled in the vet assistant program first and then enrolled as a vet tech student. She graduated from the program in February and now has a fulfilling career that she loves.

In Tiffany's own words:

“I've loved animals from the time I was a little girl and always knew I had to work with them. I didn't know what direction to go in until a couple years ago. I did some research and came across PMI and read about the veterinary technician program. I knew instantly that that's what I needed to do.

I finished the vet assistant program with a 4.0 (grade-point average) and during my externship I was hired. My employer encouraged me to continue my education and go for the technician program. I completed that program in February and love my career.

PMI was such a great hands-on program that taught me everything I needed to know and more. Now I get to help heal sick and injured animals every day and it is the most rewarding and fulfilling career I could dream of.

I just recently took my national board test and passed. I'm now a licensed veterinary technician working for a 24-hour emergency hospital and continuing to expand my knowledge and experience. I'm so excited to continue down this career path and see where it leads me.

If you follow your passion and choose a career that you would do for free everyday then you'll never work a day in your life.”
