CT technologists play a vital role in guiding patients though exams and preparing the scan results for healthcare providers. A CT scan tech is an essential part of modern diagnostic imaging teams, working in a variety of fast-paced health care environments.

Graduates of Pima Medical Institute’s CT certificate program are eligible to apply for the American Registry of Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography registry exam, and can apply their skills in a variety of environments including hospitals, clinics and diagnostic imaging centers.

Graduates will be prepared to ensure high diagnostic quality, safe radiation use and improved patient care. By earning a CT credential, radiographers may find opportunities to expand their scope of practice, such as:

  • Perform a wider range of examinations
  • Work independently in CT departments
  • Support imaging in other departments, such as trauma, oncology and emergency medicine

The online courses are designed to build upon existing skills and add the structured education requirements needed to safely and effectively perform diagnostic CT scans. This comprehensive CT tech training ensures students are prepared to apply to sit for certification and for real-world application.

The curriculum prepares the radiologic technologist for advancement through instruction in procedures, cross-sectional anatomy, radiation safety, and physics and instrumentation. Learn more in the video below.
