Pima Medical Institute has announced John Hanson has been named Chief Operating Officer of the medical career college. Hanson began his career with Pima Medical in 2012 as the campus director in Chula Vista, California. In less than a year, he was promoted to Regional Director of Operations, where he has been responsible for overseeing and providing direction to all Pima Medical campuses to ensure each is successful in delivering quality education to its students.
Hanson’s experience in higher education spans more than 30 years, including experience with Maric College and Westwood College, prior to joining Pima Medical.
As COO, Hanson will be responsible for providing leadership for all aspects of Pima Medical’s operations with an emphasis on long-term growth and profit. Among other responsibilities, Hanson will manage the Regional Directors of Operations to ensure effective management at all campuses, serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and promote the employee-ownership philosophy and purpose.

During Hanson’s time at Pima Medical, he has strengthened operations with an ability to introduce and share best practices and processes into campus systems that have resulted in greater efficiencies and best-in-class reporting processes.

Hanson’s experience also includes serving as the 2014 President and Executive Committee Board Member of the California Association of Private Post-Secondary Schools (CAPPS).
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology/Theological Studies from Ambassador University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from San Diego State University – California State University.
