Our Denver campus has been proudly serving the Denver area since 1988. Our hands-on activities and real-world labs prepare students for a variety of roles in healthcare, including dental and veterinary medicine, radiography and medical assisting.

This campus offers seven certificate programs, five associate degree programs and the Expanded Duties Dental Assistant course.

Programs Offered On This Campus

Dental Assistant

Program Length: Approximately
9 Months

In this program, students will learn how to work closely with a dental care team to ensure the best patient experience and assist in all phases of treatment, from oral care to administrative duties. Courses will focus on preparing patients for examination, taking X-rays, sterilizing equipment, preparing materials for impressions and much more.

Health Care Administration Certificate

Program Length: Approximately
8 months

In this program, students will learn the personal and professional skills needed to work as an entry-level healthcare administrative assistant. Courses will focus on how to work with medical insurance, triage appointments, assist with reporting and perform billing and coding tasks, among many other responsibilities. With these skills, you can serve as a key member of front-office medical team.

Medical Assistant

Program Length: Approximately
9 Months

In this program, students will learn how to work closely with all members of a medical team, including doctors and nurses. Medical assistants perform a range of clinical and clerical duties and act as a liaison between patients and doctors. Courses will focus on anatomy, routine laboratory procedures and frequent patient care procedures. Pima Medical’s training prepares students to begin working in the field with confidence immediately upon graduation.

Nursing Assistant/Nurse Aide

Program Length: Approximately
6 Weeks

In this program, students will learn how to assist patients with daily activities, maintain patient hygiene, assist with patient charting/documentation and assist doctors and nurses in diagnostic procedures and treatments. Students will learn about infection control, emergency procedures, interpersonal skills and much more.

Pharmacy Technician

Program Length: Approximately
9 Months

In this program, students will learn how to prepare and provide medications for patients. Courses will focus on preparing medication, compounding medications, interacting with those in the medical field such as doctors and nurses, operating automated dispensing equipment and much more. Students will receive professional and clinical training that prepares them for the daily responsibilities of a pharmacy technician.

Sterile Processing Technician

Program Length: Approximately
9 Months

In this program, students will learn how to maintain cleanliness, functionality and inventory of healthcare instruments and equipment. From the very first semester, Pima Medical provides a hands-on learning environment with courses in this program that focus on the critical steps of sterilization, microbiology and infection control, infection control practices and providing equipment access to the rest of the medical team as needed.

Veterinary Assistant

Program Length: Approximately
9 Months

In this program, students will learn how to assist veterinarians with various responsibilities, including administrative and medical duties. Courses will focus on in-office procedures, animal nursing, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, surgical procedures and many other vital elements to a veterinary assistant’s role.

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Program Length: Approximately
20 Months

In this program, you will learn how to provide treatments for those who need to learn how to function independently in their homes and during daily activities. You will take courses that focus on anatomy, growth and development, kinesiology, mental health and many other important areas of focus. Your coursework will utilize real-world labs that prepare you for the workforce.

Ophthalmic Medical Technician

Program Length: Approximately 20 months

Blending medicine with technology, the ophthalmic medical technician can initiate patient exams, measure and record visual stats, perform diagnostic procedures, assist in clinical and surgical settings and prepare patients for eye-transplant surgery. Course topics include ocular disease, surgical assisting, echography, light based imaging and more. This program is the only laser-eye surgery program in Colorado and surrounding states.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Program Length: Approximately
18 Months

In this program, learn how to help patients improve their mobility and movement following an injury or illness. Courses in this program focus on preparing you for a variety of tasks required on the job such as conducting exercise, performing massages, applying hot and cold packs and assisting in traction and other treatments. You will learn these skills in a truly hands-on experience at Pima Medical.

Radiography

Program Length: Approximately
24 Months

In this program, you will learn how to perform medical diagnostic imaging examinations. Courses will focus on anatomy, equipment protocols, radiation safety and other important areas of focus so you’re equipped with the skills needed to be successful in the field. Our real-world labs use the same equipment you’ll be working with in hospitals or clinics, so you don’t skip a beat on your first day on the job.

Respiratory Therapy

Program Length: Approximately
21 Months

In this program, you will study a broad range of respiratory health skills, including but not limited to advanced respiratory care techniques, pharmacology, cardiopulmonary disease, patient assessment and more. The day-to-day responsibilities of a respiratory therapist are as wide-ranging and unique as the patients they treat. You will also be qualified to handle critical care and emergencies related to respiratory issues.

Surgical Technology

Program Length: Approximately
18 Months

In this program, you will learn the ins and outs of surgical technology, including, but not limited to: preparing operating rooms, using equipment for surgical procedures, advocating for patient safety, managing a sterile field throughout the operation and many other important elements to surgery. A hands-on job requires hands-on training, so we ensure you are taught everything you need to feel confident on your first day on the job.

Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Program Length: 40 Hours

The Expanded Duties Dental Assistant course covers expanded duties, techniques, procedures and different applications, which will prepare dental assistants for advanced employment. Expanded skills covered include identifying cavity classifications; packing, carving and polishing amalgam restorations; placing temporary filling materials or ion crowns and more.
