Warlyn Managayayam says she knew right away that Pima Medical was right for her, thanks to an inspiring Alumni Success Story proudly displayed in the Las Vegas campus lobby. She completed her Medical Assistant certificate and continued to graduate in 2012 with her associate degree in Healthcare Administration.
Here’s her story.
“The first time I stepped in the door of Pima Medical Institute, I knew that this was my school. On the lobby wall, I read an alumni success story poster about an immigrant like me who graduated from Pima Medical. I was moved by his story and thought, ‘I, too, will excel and be remarkable!’ Those first weeks were rough. I remember those days before my stipend, when I counted the remaining quarters in my wallet to get on the bus to school.
My instructors were my mentors and I owe them what I have become today. During my externship, I gained so much wisdom and working in pediatrics intensified my desire to work in the healthcare field. It has become, not only my training ground, but also my launching pad for a much greater passion for patient care.
I recently returned to Pima Medical and completed the Online Healthcare Administration Program. I was able to complete this associate degree online while continuing to work full-time. I have so much to be grateful for thanks to Pima Medical. They helped make me and empowered me.”
The Healthcare Administration associate degree is 100 percent online, and those who start in the August 12, 2020 class can earn a $1,000 COVID-19 Stimulus Scholarship.
If you are a graduate of one of Pima Medical’s certificate programs, you could transfer 28 credits, and be less than 12 months away from your associate degree.
*The COVID-19 Stimulus Scholarship only applies to students beginning their associate degree in the Healthcare Administration program on August 12, 2020. Other programs and start dates are not eligible for the COVID-19 Stimulus Scholarship.
