Denver, Tucson and Las Vegas Head to National Sputum Bowl Challenge
Posted: December 5, 2014 by Elizabeth Baker
Excitement is building for the 2014 Sputum Bowl nationwide challenge!
Respiratory therapy students from three of our campuses--Tucson, Denver and Las Vegas--will battle it out with 14 other teams from across the nation starting on Dec. 9 at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.
Our students have a winning legacy. Last year, Las Vegas respiratory therapy students won the national championship, beating the Mayo Clinic!
Our Denver students have won the nationals several times—including in 2008, 2006 and in 2005. In 2010, our Denver faculty won in the Practitioner Sputum Bowl championship.

This year Sputum Bowl has added a new feature--renegade teams. Each state is allowed to have one more team in the competition who didn't win the statewide championship, but still have a fighting chance at the trophy.
