Pima Medical Institute Names Kristen Torres as new Regional Director of Operations

MESA, Ariz. (Feb. 4, 2016) – Kristen Torres has been named Pima Medical Institute’s new Regional Director of Operations. She will oversee Pima Medical Institute’s campuses in Arizona, Nevada and Washington, complimenting John Hanson, Pima Medical’s other Regional Director of Operations, with oversight responsibilities in California, New Mexico, Texas and Colorado.

The regional director is responsible for overseeing and providing direction to campuses to ensure each is successful in delivering quality education to its students. Currently Pima Medical has 16 campuses throughout eight states—Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Nevada, California, Washington and Montana. It educates students in a variety of healthcare fields and prepares them for careers in those fields. She will begin her new position Feb. 15, 2016.

“I’m very excited to help Pima Medical grow through leading existing campuses and helping open new ones,” Torres said. “What continues to inspire me every day is how committed our faculty and staff are to the students. I like to be part of changing students’ lives—when I think about all the hands I’ve shaken at graduations, it still gives me goosebumps seeing that success and helping to elevate lives on a daily basis.”

Torres has more than 13 years of experience in private post-secondary education. Prior to her new appointment, Torres spent eight years working as Pima Medical’s Mesa campus director and two years as a corporate director.

She has a master’s degree in business administration from University of Phoenix, a bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University and has served on numerous boards, including as president of the Arizona Private School Association, the American Lung Association of Arizona, City of Chandler Cultural Foundation Board and Be a Leader Foundation 500 Club. She is a Valley Leadership class 36 alumna and was recognized recently by the Phoenix Business Journal as a 40 Under 40 2015 member.
