Colorado Springs Campus Relocates to New, Modern Facility

Posted: November 14, 2017 by Pima Medical Institute

Pima Medical Institute students in Colorado Springs have a new campus to call home.

At the end of October, the school moved from its previous location off of Citadel Drive to a brand new facility at 5725 Mark Dabling Boulevard.

“For more than 15 years in Colorado Springs, Pima Medical Institute has assisted thousands of graduates in securing employment in the medical and veterinary sectors,” said Fred Freedman, Pima Medical Institute’s CEO and president. “We are excited to continue this tradition for our current and future students. Our new facility is beautiful, modern and well-suited to provide focused, career education.”

The school welcomed students to the new campus in early November. It features a completely renovated interior with an expanded Career Services area, larger classrooms and labs, and a common space for studying.

“We are excited to be here and to be able to offer a beautiful and welcoming home to our students,” said campus director Tara Dailey. “Everyone is really enjoying the new campus.”

The move brings all the program offerings under one roof, thanks to 32,147 square feet of space – an increase of approximately 11,000 square feet over the previous location. The campus is conveniently located off I-25 and Rockrimmon, across the street from the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame.

“Our new location provides greater, more centralized access to residents of Colorado Springs and surrounding towns,” said Freedman. “With high visibility off of I-25, students commuting by car or mass transit will be able to get to class more efficiently.”

Additional benefits of the new space include a larger Dental Assistant lab that now features six chairs instead of the previous four. The Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician students, whose classes were formerly held off-campus, will now have an integrated campus experience with access to a fully appointed lab complete with an outdoor dog run.

All classrooms and labs have floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a bright, open feel, and are all located on a single floor.

“I recently asked the students how they like their new campus and heard comments such as, ‘It’s awesome! ‘It’s so nice with all the windows.’ ‘It’s beautiful!’ ‘We love the atrium as a space to hang out on break.’ ‘I am definitely telling my friends to come here,’” said Dailey.

Freedman echoed the students’ positive feelings about the new location: “We are proud to show off our new facilities to prospective students, current students and alumni of Pima Medical Institute.”

Students can choose to enroll in one of several certificate programs at the new campus, including Dental Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician and Veterinary Assistant. The campus also offers a Veterinary Technician associate degree and an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant course.
