Pima Medical Institute Gives Back to Tucson Children and Families this Holiday Season

Each year during Spirit of Giving Pima Medical Institute’s corporate employees in Arizona raise funds and buy items for adults and children in need at the holidays.

This year, more than 90 employees raised $12,700 in funds and donated items, which went to eight Tucson, Ariz. organizations. They include:

• Children battling illnesses and the families caring for them at the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Arizona
• Children receiving grief counseling from the organization Tu Nidito
• Homeless children and families receiving shelter and other services at Our Family Services
• Homeless women and their children receiving help from the Gospel Rescue Mission
• Homeless teenagers who are working toward high school graduation through Youth on their Own
• Children recovering from abuse at Casa de los Niños
• A military family of nine living at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base
• Those receiving much-needed, low-cost healthcare through El Rio Community Health Center

Throughout November, corporate employees reached out to community members, relatives and others to raise funds and ask for items that would help make the holidays brighter for dozens of people.

On Dec. 9, Pima Medical employees presented their items and funds to the local organizations and their recipients during the Spirit of Giving event. Pima Medical gave blankets, clothing, toys, other children’s supplies, hygiene products, games, gift cards, and much more.
