Our Aurora campus opened in 2012 and serves the greater Denver community with real-world dental and medical assisting labs plus hands-on training for healthcare procedures and veterinary medicine.

The Aurora campus offers the Licensed Practical Nursing program, which is one of only a few LPN programs in the state of Colorado. Our campus also provides a Veterinary Technician program, allowing students to become Veterinary Technicians and sit for state licensure.

  • The Aurora campus is located off the I-225 and Mississippi Avenue, just west of Town Center Mall. The area is served by the Regional Transportation District (RTD) with stops in front of campus. From there, students can take the R Line light rail for expanded public access throughout Aurora.<br />

Programs Offered On This Campus

Dental Assistant

Program Length: Approximately
9 Months

In this program, students will learn how to work closely with a dental care team to ensure the best patient experience and assist in all phases of treatment, from oral care to administrative duties. Courses will focus on preparing patients for examination, taking X-rays, sterilizing equipment, preparing materials for impressions and much more.

Medical Assistant

Program Length: Approximately
9 Months

In this program, students will learn how to work closely with all members of a medical team, including doctors and nurses. Medical assistants perform a range of clinical and clerical duties and act as a liaison between patients and doctors. Courses will focus on anatomy, routine laboratory procedures and frequent patient care procedures. Pima Medical’s training prepares students to begin working in the field with confidence immediately upon graduation.

Practical Nursing

Program Length: Approximately
12 Months

In this program, students will learn the various duties and responsibilities of a licensed practical nurse (LPN). This role works under the direction of registered nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors. Courses address measuring vital signs, starting IVs, assisting older patients with activities, collecting laboratory specimens and more.

Veterinary Assistant

Program Length: Approximately
9 Months

In this program, students will learn how to assist veterinarians with various responsibilities, including administrative and medical duties. Courses will focus on in-office procedures, animal nursing, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, surgical procedures and many other vital elements to a veterinary assistant’s role.

Veterinary Technician

Program Length: Approximately 18 Months except in El Paso. The El Paso program is approximately 21 months.

In this program, you will be able to manifest your animal-loving dreams and work in a field dedicated to animal care. Learn about animal behavior, surgical assisting, testing procedures and more. This program offers a unique blended learning experience, with some instruction conducted online and some in-person. Your hands-on expertise will be gained working in well-equipped animal hospital settings.

Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Program Length: 40 Hours

The Expanded Duties Dental Assistant course covers expanded duties, techniques, procedures and different applications, which will prepare dental assistants for advanced employment. Expanded skills covered include identifying cavity classifications; packing, carving and polishing amalgam restorations; placing temporary filling materials or ion crowns and more.

The length of different healthcare certificate and associate degree programs varies by discipline. Most healthcare certificate programs at the Aurora campus take about 9 to 12 months, while our healthcare associate degree programs typically take around 2 years. Each combines classroom instruction with real-world lab and clinical experience.

We also offer online associates, bachelors, and master’s degrees across different healthcare disciplines.

  • align with our curriculum
  • meet a required minimum grade
  • are approved by our academic team
