You’re Enrolled: Now Get A Head Start on Your Studies

Follow your passion for a career in healthcare and make a difference.

You’ve enrolled in classes, and now you might be wondering how to get a jump start on that first day of school. Here are three tips that can give you a leg up as you take your next step toward a career in healthcare.

1. Academic Exercise: Brush up on your academic weak points. Even if you’re comfortable in all subjects, now is a good time to give yourself some extra practice. Check out the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL) to brush up on your writing skills. Looking for some math refreshers? Check out Math.com where you can practice any level you might need help in.

2. Required Reading: Are there required books or articles you can get a head start on? Now is also a great time to read your student handbook with a fine-tooth comb. Curious about what Pima Medical graduates are up to? Take some time to read up on the great things our alumni are doing.

3. Zen Den: Find yourself a place in your home where you can create a calming spot for studying. Don’t have a dedicated office or desk space? That’s o.k. Check out these DIY ideas. Once you’ve established a study location and some positive habits, you’ll be ready for anything once classes start.

These tips are a good start, and we are always here to help you along the way! Please reach out to your student services or admissions representative with any questions. We are all navigating uncharted waters, but we can get through it together.
