El PASO (October 19, 2017) – Pima Medical Institute is proud to celebrate the grand opening of its new, 40,000-square-foot campus, conveniently located at 6925 Gateway Boulevard East near I-10 and Hawkins. The public is invited to attend the campus’ grand opening and open house on October 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see several hands-on demonstrations and explore the labs designed to emulate real-world medical facilities. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at noon, featuring guest speakers who will introduce the new campus to the community.
“We’re very excited to welcome the public to our new campus where we offer several in-demand healthcare education programs,” said Pima Medical Institute Campus Director, Keever Jankovich “Our new location will provide career training to those interested in the medical field and will help fill positions in the El Paso healthcare community.”
The new campus currently offers four associate degree programs: diagnostic medical sonography, occupational therapy assistant, radiography and veterinary technician. It also offers dental assistant, medical assistant, medical administrative assistant, pharmacy technician, and veterinary assistant certificate programs.
Pima Medical initially entered the El Paso market in June of 2014 when it agreed to teach out displaced Anamarc College students. The college closed suddenly, leaving more than 1,200 students struggling to find a way to graduate. The occupational therapy assistant students attending Anamarc College were able to finish their programs at Pima Medical Institute and go on to work in careers in occupational therapy.
