Program Objective

This certificate program will prepare you with the training to work as a capable entry-level health care administrative assistant. At Pima Medical Institute, you will gain the skills needed to work in health care administration, such as medical insurance procedures, coding and billing tasks, triaging patients and more. Health care administrative assistants are the front face of the medical office, so classes also focus on the soft, professional skills that foster an optimum patient experience.

Careers in Health Care Administration

When you’re a Pima Medical Institute student, you get access to our Career Services team—here for you when you need extra help with finding the right job opportunities, building a resume, strengthening your interview skills or just looking for general guidance.

Clinical Externships

At Pima Medical Institute, most programs allow students to work in their field through clinical externships—a chance to be mentored by full-time professionals and interface with real patients.

In addition to real-world experience, clinical externships offer students resume-worthy opportunities, letters of recommendation from supervisors, and sometimes job placement directly after graduation.

“I visited the school and found my place, enrolling in Health Care Administration Certificate afternoon program. I continued working retail and would often do a morning shift, attend afternoon classes, and then work an evening shift. Even though I was busy, I had a great experience at Pima Medical! Everyone was welcoming and supportive and my instructors were available for one-on-one help whenever I needed it.”
