Pima Medical Institute’s
Dillon, Montana campus will host an Open House on June 21, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors will get a first-hand look at the hands-on experience students in the
Veterinary Technician associate degree and
Veterinary Assistant certificate programs receive in their respective programs. The Open House will also offer the opportunity to meet faculty, see hands-on demonstrations and review curriculum.
Located on the campus of the University of Montana, Western, programs are offered in collaboration with the university, giving students the Pima Medical Institute curriculum, as well as a full campus experience.
Pima Medical’s Veterinary Technician program received its American Veterinary Medical Association accreditation in May 2017, and graduated its first cohort of students that same month.
Curriculum focuses on hands-on training, caring for domestic animals, livestock and even exotic animals. Over the program's 18-month period, students learn animal behavior, care, surgical assisting, laboratory testing and nursing procedures. Veterinary technicians that graduate are qualified to work closely with veterinarians in the areas of surgery, lab procedures and radiography.
The public is encouraged to stop by for tours. Current students and faculty will be on hand to talk to anyone interested in the programs.
